FAQ
(Frequently asked questions)
A: Samagrams
is a word game based on anagrams - or Anagrams with a difference.
The game takes the form of a clue and a (usually) two-word answer with the two words being anagrams of
each other.

A: The more difficult the rating, the fewer letters are provided in
the answer grid. In some instances the
actual words may be shorter, and the clues -
while they're always clear, may be less cryptic in the EASY puzzles.
A: Ah, noticed that did you? We could provide US-spelling only or
rest-of-world-spelling only in the puzzles but because we live in a global
environment, we decided to use both. Hopefully this won't prove too difficult -
and if it does, let us know and we'll think about adding a legend to
identify non-standard spelling.
A: You'll
be able to download a selection of puzzles here each week. If that's not enough and you have a hankering
for more, we're planning to release a book of Samagrams in the near
future. In the meantime, in Australia you can get some in the current edition of the Lovatt's Cryptic Crosswords #20 (pgs 47 and 71), or on the Samagrams blog.
A: Why
not? Actually it's because all zebras
look the same but they're all different -
a bit like anagrams which are essentially the same - made up of the same
letters - but very different depending on how those letters are arranged -
especially when you put another one in the mix.
